PageScope Cabinet Pro's new features include:

· Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for full text search and image editing

· Ability to automatically transfer incoming scanned images from one folder to another

· Ability to receive incoming e-mails and attachments into Cabinet folders

· Enhanced thumbnail document views

· Ability to create a single PDF file with electronic and images files

RAMSEY, NJ - December 1, 2003 - With the new PageScope Cabinet Pro from Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc., Minolta customers have an easy-to-use desktop application to organize, view, find, edit and share scanned images and electronic documents that easily integrates with any networked Minolta multifunctional product (MFP) or scanner to create a personal "electronic filing cabinet."

PageScope Cabinet Pro Advantages

Easy Archiving
With PageScope Cabinet Pro, users can automatically organize and store files scanned with Minolta MFPs. They can easily identify scanned and electronic documents and images using thumbnail previews and they can create one merged file (i.e. Word, Excel, PDF, jpeg, etc.) for each project, subject, or theme.

Fast File Retrieval
File retrieval is fast because users can perform full text searches on application files as well as on image files. Faster retrieval can also be accomplished by attaching keywords, sticky notes, shapes, or text to files.

Simple Document Creation
PageScope Cabinet Pro lets users combine existing electronic documents with scanned images to create one PDF file. In addition, users can edit, annotate and insert pages into any file. PageScope Cabinet Pro also allows users to convert image files into text that can be edited and saved as a Microsoft Word document for effortless document creation.

Image Enhancement Library (automatic correction)
PageScope Cabinet Pro has a number of tools that will maintain the image quality of high-quality originals. Tools can be used to automatically detect and remove color casts, maintain color hues after contrast adjustments and enhance edges to prevent them from appearing unnatural.

Visual Desktop
Each scanned and electronic document has its own thumbnail image and images are organized in management folders within the PageScope Cabinet Pro program. Thumbnails and the advanced search tools make document identification quick and simple because users can see the contents of the document without having to open the file. The file management folders are simple to set up and access. Files may be transferred from one management folder to another with drag and drop ease and instant screen updates confirm the file's new location.

PageScope Cabinet Pro has a File Grouping feature that allows users to put multiple files together, regardless of application, for quick access to the entire group without affecting individual files. File Grouping is especially useful for people working on projects or presentations that use multiple files. With File Grouping, users can print, PC-Fax or e-mail all the information concerning the project instantly from their PC.

Document Search
PageScope Cabinet Pro offers several ways to locate files. Users can search through thumbnail images, document file names or document creation dates. In addition, users may perform full text searches if they have performed OCR on the documents.

Image Editing
PageScope Cabinet Pro enables a number of image editing capabilities. For instance, users may enhance and auto-correct images. They may also edit images as necessary.

Scan to Desktop
PageScope Cabinet Pro is TWAIN compliant, which means that users can acquire images from any standard TWAIN scanner including the Minolta MS6000, MS7000 and PS7000 microform and publication scanners and any networked Minolta MFP.

File Format Conversion
PageScope Cabinet Pro makes it easy to convert image files to a variety of different format types. It can convert TIFF, JPEG and BMP files to BMP, TIFF, JPEG, PNG and PDF files with just a few clicks of the mouse. It can also convert an image file to an RTF file for image editing.

E-Mail Drag & Drop
PageScope Cabinet Pro allows users to attach scanned images to e-mail messages with drag and drop simplicity for convenient document sharing. This will work with any MAPI compliant e-mail systems such as Exchange or Lotus Notes. Files may also be sent to the printer or sent via PC fax with drag and drop ease. In addition, PageScope Cabinet Pro can be programmed to accept incoming e-mail messages and then import the text and any attached documents to a Cabinet folder.

Availability and Price
PageScope Cabinet Pro is now available from authorized Minolta dealers. A single workstation license has a suggested retail price of $199. Additional licenses are $99 each and an upgrade for PageScope Cabinet to PageScope Cabinet Pro is also $99.
