Interstar Partners with eCopy to Deliver a Robust Scan-to-Fax Server Interface
Wednesday, 08 February 2006
MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 2006--Interstar Technologies:
-- Interstar's fax server software technology integrates with eCopy's ShareScan OP to transform paper documents into electronic documents for rapid, effortless faxing from network-attached digital copiers
Interstar Technologies (www.faxserver.com), the global leader in IP fax since 2002, has formed an alliance with eCopy (www.ecopy.com), a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications. As an eCopy Connections Alliance Program (eCAP) partner, Interstar has integrated its network fax server software suite to the eCopy Open Platform Architecture to simplify, accelerate and consolidate faxing from a diverse range of network-attached digital copiers connected to either PSTN- or VoIP-based networks.
A special add-on eCopy Connector is now available for eCopy and Interstar customers. The Interstar Connector for eCopy ShareScan OP enables users to fax documents directly from their digital copiers using Interstar's LightningFAX and XMediusFAX fax server. Compatible with eCopy ShareScan OP, the Interstar Connector for eCopy ShareScan OP is now available from the Interstar (www.faxserver.com) website.
Interstar Connector customers can now benefit from the ability to:
-- Quickly scan and preview their documents for automated faxing activated through a series of user-friendly eCopy ShareScan OP interface screens, which capture fax coversheet data, as well as automatically merging with sender and recipient information.
-- Return immediately to their PCs for a fax transmission status report sent directly to their email inboxes by Interstar's LightningFAX or XMediusFAX fax server. This eliminates waiting at the digital copier.
-- Use advanced options such as Active Directory integration, addition of users to the eCopy phonebook, user login, and failed-fax resubmission from desktop PCs.
eCopy ShareScan OP supports digital copiers from Canon, HP, Ricoh, Sharp and Toshiba. Visit http://www.ecopy.com/support/platforms.htm for a complete listing.
"Because of the eCAP alliance, simplified and consolidated faxing from digital copiers also creates an audit trail for regulatory compliance with laws such as Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA," said Martin Demers, President and CEO of Interstar Technologies Inc. "All this translates into streamlined document management that yields significant cost-savings and rapid ROI. And for Interstar XMediusFAX boardless Fax over IP users, the Interstar Connector for eCopy ShareScan OP enables even greater cost-savings through reduced telecommunications, long-distance and fax hardware expenses."
According to Vickie Malis, vice president of Marketing for eCopy, "Interstar's integration with eCopy ShareScan OP delivers a cost-effective method for IP faxing of paper documents, speeding the exchange of information. Our users benefit from a centralized network faxing solution without the added expense of analog fax lines, materials and supplies."
