PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug 26, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) ----HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced industry analyst firm Gartner, Inc. placed HP in the Leaders Quadrant in its Magic Quadrant for Managed Print Services (MPS).
HP believes this placement, coupled with the latest multifunction printer (MFP) market share standings and customer adoption, demonstrates its ability to provide customers with a robust MPS offering that delivers continued cost savings and increased productivity in the office.
In the Gartner Magic Quadrant report, HP was evaluated on "completeness of vision" as well as its "ability to execute."(1) According to the report, Gartner classifies leaders as "providing MPS to a wide range of customers, including the largest and most geographically dispersed, so they must demonstrate a truly global reach. They must demonstrate not only the skills to deliver today's MPS, but also the understanding, initiative and resources to prepare for tomorrow's. Leaders characteristically augment the full scope of MPS with a wide range of added-value services.
Earlier this month, Photizo Group revealed its 2009 MPS Market Forecast, which positions HP as a global leader, with a 34 percent share, based on 2008 data.(2) Last month, HP announced the HP Printing Payback Guarantee and HP Page Plan for MPS enterprise customers.
"We feel today's recognition by industry analysts, punctuated by our customer success and recent innovative product rollouts, speaks to our momentum in the market and drive to be the leader," said John Johasky, vice president and general manager, Worldwide Sales and Services, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. "We are in the business of accelerating business results, and with HP MPS we continue to do that for our customers."
