New release of scanning and capture software provides high-volume document management operations with more tools to immediately process paper as it enters the organization.
BIRMINGHAM, AL -- ibml, a leading provider of scanning and document capture solutions and services, today announced a new release of its SoftTrac® Capture Suite software with significant enhancements and new capabilities. SoftTrac Capture Suite 2.8 provides more tools to effectively capture and process documents at the 'Point of Entry'™ into an organization, resulting in faster access to document intelligence for downstream business processes and better-managed production scanning operations.
SoftTrac Capture Suite 2.8 delivers a comprehensive suite of scan and capture tools that can support most high-volume production capture jobs, combining scanners from ibml as well as production-class scanners from other vendors, all under one consolidated user interface and one centralized administration.
"To meet the never-ending demand for faster access to document-based information, ibml now offers our customers an even more flexible and feature-rich software suite for capturing documents at the Point of Entry into organizations and quickly applying business rules to reduce the need for downstream exception handling," said ibml Chief Marketing Officer Dan Lucarini. "SoftTrac Capture Suite 2.8 also brings some of our legendary inline capture performance and functionality to production-class scanners from other vendors that our customers are using."
New and enhanced features of SoftTrac Capture Suite (SCS) 2.8 include:
Mobile alerts: SoftTrac Analytics is a powerful option that provides a holistic view of operations performance, enabling organizations to monitor and improve capture processes and performance and centralize operations reporting and analysis. New in SCS 2.8, Analytics can now send alerts to mobile phones to notify operations managers when job performance falls below pre-defined thresholds. Version 2.8 also makes it easy to configure, manage and distribute reports, and schedule automatic reports.
Reduced downstream exceptions: SCS 2.8 offers an optional quality control module that automatically routes batches needing quality assurance based on specific pre-defined criteria. Operators can review, correct and approve batches, flag documents for rescanning, append rescanned documents to batches, and edit or delete documents and metadata. For many capture applications, SoftTrac Quality Control in combination with ibml's DocNetics® intelligent document recognition option could replace the need for a separate capture software package.
New in-line intelligence and output features: Building on ibml's leadership in high-speed in-line sorting, SCS 2.8 automatically detects missing documents and transactions, documents with bent corners, and documents and transactions that were not prepped in the correct order. The software also features an enhanced version of the SoftTrac Kofax Connector, and allows system analysts to easily create custom connectors to virtually any business application.
Simplified job creation and setup: SCS 2.8 streamlines the setup of even the most complex jobs by providing centralized job development and administration, a setup Wizard for basic jobs, and a new tool to easily configure the desired image output.
Greater flexibility for managing user access: SCS 2.8 allows users to easily administer users and security from one place. Additionally, the software provides a single sign-on for secure access to all of the applications in the suite.
ibml will showcase SoftTrac Capture Suite 2.8 in its booth #715 at Fusion 2012, May 13-17 at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN.
