PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 11, 2010- HP today announced it has named Ahmed Mahmoud senior vice president in Global Information Technology at HP, effective immediately.
Mahmoud will report to Randy Mott, executive vice president and chief information officer at HP. Mahmoud will lead the IT teams responsible for the company’s hp.com, e-commerce and marketing organizations.
Mahmoud most recently was senior vice president and chief information officer for Advanced Micro Devices. Prior to that, he held a variety of IT management roles at Dell over a 13-year period, including application development for global manufacturing, finance, supply chain, sales, Dell online and data warehousing. Before that he was an Oracle database administrator at Eastman Kodak.
Mahmoud, a recognized IT industry leader, was named to Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT leaders in 2009. He also is a University of Texas (UT) Senior Service College Fellow, UT McCombs VIP speaker and a member of the Texas A&M University College of Science Advisory Board.
“Ahmed has a unique combination of technology skills and industry vision, and will be of great benefit to HP,” said Mott. “He’s a great addition to an already deep and talented HP IT team.”
The HP IT leadership team includes a number of senior IT executives, including previous chief information officers, with experience in a range of industries and Fortune 50 companies.
