PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 18, 2011 - HP today announced that Bill Wohl has joined the company as senior vice president and chief communications officer.
In this newly created position, Wohl will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating communications across the company. He also will be a senior advisor to HP President and Chief Executive Officer Léo Apotheker and report directly to him.
“Bill is a consummate professional who will lead the effort to articulate my vision and broader strategy for HP,” said Apotheker. “He will help drive our entire business forward by conveying the value and the richness of HP, and the shared vision for our products and services.”
Wohl has more than 25 years of public relations experience. He comes to HP after 12 years at SAP AG, where he was a member of the company’s senior executive team and served as a trusted advisor on a range of strategic issues, such as crisis, mergers and acquisitions, product launches and global company events. As vice president of Global Communications, Wohl led development and execution of the strategic communications programs for SAP Field Operations. In addition, he was responsible for communications for SAP co-CEO Bill McDermott.

Wohl holds a bachelor’s degree in public affairs from the University of Delaware. In his spare time, he served more than 25 years as an emergency medical technician and fire fighter, responding to emergency 911 calls for the volunteer fire department in West Grove, Pa.
