High Wire Networks, providers of the Overwatch Managed Security Platform-as-a-Service, announced today that IT security veteran Philip Burnett has joined the company as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Burnett brings two decades of executive security experience and credentials to the High Wire Networks team. Most recently, he was CISO and director of IT Security at R1 RCM Inc. and a Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager at Sentinel Technologies. Also, during his career he spent five years as HIPAA Chief Security Officer and DIACAP Information Assurance Officer for Delta Dental. Burnett is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). He also has certifications in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials (GSEC).

“For nearly two decades, High Wire Networks has been known as a trusted partner for the most complex technology implementation projects. Adding a CISO of Phil’s caliber and experience shows we're serious about becoming the most trusted authority in the security space as well," said High Wire Network’s CEO Mark Porter.

“We spent more than six months searching for the perfect candidate before finding Phil. Beyond his experience as a lifelong IT and security practitioner, his professional credentials and military experience, Phil is a great person and a real leader.”

“I’m excited to join High Wire Networks as a strategic adviser for Overwatch managed security services and to leverage my IT security experience to grow the line of business,” said Burnett. “As CISO, I’m charged with ensuring that the Overwatch platform is bullet-proof and future-proof to help our sales partners and their business clients maintain continuous compliance and cybersecurity.”

In addition to his strategic role, Burnett will direct the 24/7/365 Overwatch SOC, which is built on a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

“Threats are becoming more prevalent,” said Burnett. “The Overwatch platform uses leading-edge ML and AI to weed out the noise and pinpoint actionable events. This is just one example of how High Wire Networks leverages the latest advances in technology and techniques to stay one step ahead of bad actors.”
