ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Henderson Legal Services, Inc., a leading global provider of deposition and related services to corporations, law firms, and government entities, today announced that Gregory J. Mazares has been retained as Executive Vice President of Sales to expand, train, and manage the company's national sales team. In this capacity, Mazares will provide experienced senior leadership of sales. He is based in Los Angeles, CA.
Over the past 30 years, Mazares has built a track record of success as a senior executive in the legal services industry. Recently, he served as president of sales, a Board member, and major shareholder at eDiscovery services leader Discovia. He built and managed Discovia's national sales team which drove the company's material growth between 2013 and 2017, when the company was acquired by Lighthouse eDiscovery. Prior to his joining Discovia, he served as president and CEO of Encore Discovery Solutions, where he led the company's turnaround and dramatic growth in revenue and profitability. Under his leadership, Encore became a significant national eDiscovery services provider and was acquired by industry leader Epiq Systems for $100 million in 2011.
Mazares has over 12 years of experience in the court reporting industry, during which he was part of a management team which executed a roll-up strategy to acquire over 30 firms to form Esquire Deposition Services. He also served as president of the national deposition services division of Spherion Corporation, which resulted in the growth and sale of the business to industry leader Veritext. He then served as president of the parent company of Esquire Deposition Services prior to his successful entry into eDiscovery services.
His three decades of experience in the legal services industry include leadership roles in deposition services, electronic discovery, document review, trial consulting, demonstrative evidence, courtroom presentation technology, document management, legal research, and legal staffing. Earlier in his career he held marketing and general management positions at Carnation Company, Nestlé USA, and First Interstate Bancorp. Mazares holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
"We are confident Greg will guide us through our next phase of rapid growth," said Henderson Legal Services president Scot Henderson. "We particularly value his management expertise with global legal services companies, his outstanding track record of building successful legal services firms, and his ability to recruit and retain talented people."
Henderson Legal Services has been led since 2002 by Scot Henderson and his brother, Chip Henderson, who as CEO is the company's leading business generator. The company's Chairman, Douglas B. Henderson, was a founder of the law firm of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP in 1965. Doug retired from full-time legal practice in 2013. During his distinguished career, he served as lead counsel in over 90 intellectual property litigations and appeared in trial and appellate courts across the United States.
Mazares added, "I'm very excited about joining the strong team and quality operation Scot and Chip have built. This company does great work and has a wonderful reputation.
