Ok, heres the situation. I have the OK to place 2 105's each will get atelast 100k per month ran on them. This is the problem and I don't know if I can overcome it.

The current envirorment is a tv news room running an antiquated propiertary software that will only allow for laser jet 3 emulation to be used. They are using hp3 driver through a black box that is then splitting the job to 6 XEROX 32 page per minute printers.

The It guy and myself would like to eliminate all of those printers increase speed and place to 105's w/ print scan.

i already know that i can push the data with the driver. does anyone know if you can do two things?

1. Use the connect copy so that the jobs are split from print

2. set up print module so that it can do split the jobs post rip and then second of all always sort when a file is ripped to it.

I hope somone out there has done this or knows of a trick. I appreciate the help.

If there is no way to use the PCL drivers (which are hp's language) than there is no way to accessorize the copier and to the best of my knowledge you can't utilize connect copy. What I would suggest is checking in to Axis or another print server company to see if they have a print server that you can shoot jobs to and have it print that job to multiple devices. Otherwise, I'm stumped.

If you are looking to sort as well and have to use an HP3 driver, I think you are screwed. Another thing with the HP 3 driver is that you will likely only have the option to print to one tray on the copier and that is probably the tray that you set as default tray on the copier.

Hope that helps
Grahm,

Thanks for the input. That is what I came to the conclusion of as well. You would think somwhere in user tools or service mode you could default the unit to perform advanced functions like these.

If this was a typical PCL or RPCS driver situation, would the connect copy, work to split jobs or would you need to go through smart device monitor to set that up? Thanks Again for your help.
