Heidelberg Expands Digital Roadshow Schedule

Success of Events Demonstrate Steady Increase of Interest in Digital Printing

KENNESAW, Ga., September 24, 2003 – Heidelberg has announced the remaining schedule to its 2003 Digital Roadshow series. Held in conjunction with NexPress 2100 customers, the Roadshows provide a venue for printers, print buyers, graphic artists and other print media professionals to exchange ideas with peers on the digital printing industry. Audiences interact with presenters as well as participate in hands-on demonstrations to produce digital applications and learn to successfully and creatively use variable data.

Heidelberg has hosted 4 sessions this year, with an average of 80 attendees per event.

“Interest in the road show events continues to rise and participants are genuinely interested in digital printing. They are serious about using this technology for their work,” said Niels M. Winther, President of Heidelberg USA. “The interest in learning more about digital printing supports the early signs that our industry is recovering and further indicates that print media professionals want new capabilities that will make them more competitive.”

Winther attended the company’s most recent Roadshow held at Great Lakes Lithograph in Cleveland Ohio. Jim Schultz, President, Chairman of the Board, and CEO of Great Lakes Lithograph, along with Richard Sand, Director of Business Development Services for Heidelberg USA, hosted the event. Seminars were given throughout the day by Elyse Mitchell from LB Works, a Leo Burnett company and Sean Cummins, proprietor of Creative Digital Color in Chicago on variable data printing and Think 121 a variable data software company.

Great Lakes Lithograph was founded in 1931 and offers a complete line of printing applications including digital, web and sheetfed printing for customers all over the Northeast. Along with professional workshops and seminars, guests were treated to plant tours of the facility, live demonstrations on the NexPress 2100 and an overview of internet to print capabilities.

“This was a great event for us and we couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out,” said Schultz. “It gave us a great opportunity to strengthen our relationship with our customers and meet new ones while continuing to build our relationship with Heidelberg. We have already obtained new business directly because of the Heidelberg event.”

Heidelberg’s Digital Roadshow events, which are held at NexPress 2100 customer locations and are open to the public, are designed to raise community awareness and interest in digital printing and teach print media professionals about Heidelberg’s digital printing solutions. As a result of the event in Cleveland, Heidelberg has engaged in discussions with several participants who are interested in purchasing the NexPress 2100 press.

The workshops, hosted by Heidelberg’s Business Development Services group are held throughout the Country. Following is a list of upcoming Roadshow locations:

· September 2003 – Portland, OR & Nashville, TN
· October 2003 – Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, CA
· November 2003- New York City, NY; Philadelphia, PA;

“Heidelberg is interested in providing digital customers the tools they need to succeed in this growing industry,” stated Richard Sand, Director of Business Development Services. “We have found that seminars like these aid our customers in reaching their goals and making their business more successful and profitable by using our equipment.”
