HealthWare Systems today announced a multi-year agreement withPratt Regional Medical Center, an acute care facility and long-term rehabilitation/residential center located inPratt, Kansas.  In the coming weeksPratt Regional will implement ActiveXCHANGE, HealthWare Systems' closed-source order and document management software module.  The solution is designed to facilitate efficient, compliant, and paperless information exchange for healthcare organizations.

"We're excited to work withPratt Regional Medical Center, and we look forward to a long-term relationship," saidSteve Gruner, CEO of HealthWare Systems. "ActiveXCHANGE has proven to be an effective tool--not just for eliminating the waste of paper charts, misplaced files, and millions of printed copies--but for generating significant savings and markedly improved administrative workflows."

HealthWare sources explain that even though electronic records are rapidly becoming the industry standard, many health-related documents--physician orders, pharmacy orders, insurance requests, and third-party test results, for example--may still originate in physical form, or require manual transferal across disparate networks. ActiveXCHANGE works to ensure that all orders and supporting documents are collected and maintained electronically, making information easily accessible to anyone with the appropriate clearance.

"ActiveXCHANGE provides a single interface capable of receiving incoming orders from any source, including online, fax, and EMR-based physician orders," Gruner continued. "Unlike paper-based transmission and filing, ActiveXCHANGE provides highly-secure and HIPAA-compliant audit trails; single-click rejection notices; simple search and retrieval capabilities, based on a variety of search parameters; simultaneous access to documents, for multiple users and departments; plus detailed reporting of all document activity and staff performance."

The Pratt Regional integration of ActiveXCHANGE is expected to improve patient experiences, physician satisfaction, and workloads for all intake staff and administrative teams, in keeping with PRMC's focus on performance excellence.Pratt Regional Medical Center maintains 69 beds in its acute care setting and 51 beds in its rehabilitation/residential center. The facility is dedicated to serving south-centralKansas and the panhandle ofOklahoma.
