I heard from my Ricoh DSM yesterday that the negotiations are finished with Toshiba and we will see a relabled Toshiba color box first qtr. This is a short term solution until Ricoh comes out with their own engine.

Oh my! I for one will stay away from this box, interim relabling will mean headaches and toshiba technology that RFG reps will have to learn in a short time. By the time the techs are proficient in the service and technology Ricoh will have their own box? Pity the customer who buys this box.

The word I have heard is that ricoh has no plans to build any graphic color any time soon. Ricoh has let go one of the best graphic color people I have met, Bill Tiebo.

We heard a few weeks ago from one of Ricoh Major Accounts Manager that Ricoh is at least a year away from replacing the 6513 with a new graphic color unit.
we brought toshiba 310c and 210c on 3 months ago. GREAT product. I did this because Ricoh shows no committment to that end, graphic color. The 6513 is great, but too slow, bla bla bla, fuser, bla bla bla, oil bla bla.
I tell you what, we'll roll 10 / 15 systems within 6 - 9 months. If my tech can't be proficient - then we need to talk. Also, the Toshiba uses replaceable fuser and transer belt systems, so bench tech in office can get you up and going. Just makes sense. Don't let a good thing slip away guys.
