The popularity of recent posts is just another indication as to the importance of multifunction printer (MFP) security. By far, there has not been so much attention placed on one area of our industry in quite some time. To that end, I feel that we at Office Automation of Gainesville should continue to strive to educate current and potential customers of the various issues concerning MFP security.
One area we have noticed effects our current customers. Valid concerns have arose in the past few months about the security features and functions in Xerox MFP's presently in use by our customers. Specifically, our current customers want to know that the data they have on the hard drives of their MFP is secure, and probably more important, our current customers want to know how to dependably remove customer data from their machine at the end of its useful cycle. In this post, I would like to focus on these main concerns.
