FUJIFILM UVIJET UV INKS RETAIN GREENGUARD GOLD CERTIFICATION
Hanover Park, Ill., December 10, 2019 – With an on-going commitment to environmental responsibility, Fujifilm announces 25 of its Uvijet UV inks continue to retain GREENGUARD® Gold Certification, a highly-regarded industry accreditation.
The GREENGUARD Gold Certification standard includes health-based criteria for additional chemicals and also requires lower total VOC emissions levels to help ensure that products are acceptable for use in environments like schools and healthcare facilities.
“Receiving the GREENGUARD Gold certification is a fantastic achievement,” said Becky McConnell, segment marketing manager – wide format inkjet, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division. “Industry regulations are ever-evolving, and Fujifilm is committed to providing low odor and low emission ink options to a variety of institutions across multiple disciplinary platforms. Ensuring our inks, in harmony with our printers, allow print providers to produce as many applications as possible and expand their client base as far as their aspirations desire is what helps Fujifilm continually innovate and bring added value to the industry.”
What is GREENGUARD Certification?
GREENGUARD Certification ensures that a product has met several of the world's most rigorous and comprehensive standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into indoor air. GREENGUARD Certification is part of UL® Environment, a business unit of UL (Underwriters Laboratories). GREENGUARD Certification helps manufacturers create, and buyers identify, interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used.
GREENGUARD Certification Helps Identify Healthier Products
As the demand for healthier, more sustainable products continues to expand, consumers and building industry professionals increasingly demand substantiation of product sustainability claims and rely on trustworthy third-party certifiers to guide purchasing and specification decisions. GREENGUARD Certification provides the market with solutions and resources to identify products with lower chemical emissions, and provides manufacturers with credible tools to legitimize and promote their sustainability efforts.
Indoor air quality (IAQ) is closely tied to health, and is therefore recognized as an important concern in homes, schools, healthcare environments and commercial spaces. Volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from building materials and furnishings are a major source of indoor air pollution. GREENGUARD Certification has been widely adopted as a trusted standard for low-emitting products. In fact, more than 400 green building codes, standards, guidelines, procurements policies, and rating systems give credit for GREENGUARD Certified products.
Fujifilm’s Uvijet UV ink ranges accredited with GREENGUARD Gold Certification include:
