Fujifilm gives out more info on B2 color PPS
The Revoria Press GC12500 is the world’s first color toner system that handles up to B2 sheet size
- Apparently, even though Fuji makes most of the Xerox branded hardware, this new product will be not relabeled by Xerox
- Uses transfer belt between the developer and the OPC drums to avoid any transfer gaps across the width of the sheet
- Optimized magnetic brush development
- Uses world’s smallest toner particle
- Super EA-Eco toner technology (emulsion aggregate, similar to polymerized toner)
- Infrared and hot air pre-treatment of imaged sheet before fusing, allowing for lower fuser pressure
- Paper feeding and output are adjacent to each other and close to operator panel so user does not have to move back and forth
- Total length of 25.8 feet for system
- Paper supply includes two 2,100 sheet paper drawers and a 6,500 sheet paper deck, along with bypass
- Air suction paper feed
- 0.5mm front-to-back registration
- Sheets are held in place by a gripper mechanism
- Advertised as offering 2400dpi resolution, although actual is 1200x1200dpi with 10 bit depth
- Color toner separations are collected on a transfer belt before being transferred onto paper
- Inline sensor for color calibration
- Initial version has 4 toners (CMYK), with second future version will have 6 toners
- Swapping toner stations require effort due to width of the units
- Feeds paper in landscape format, with long edge leading
- Up to 450gsm media handling at full speed of 2500 sheets per hour (42ppm)
- Auto duplex
- Output has a moderate gloss
- Max sheet size of 26.1” x 29.5” (can hold 6 A4 images or 250ppm)
- Fujifilm may market a click charge pricing model where toner is purchased separately
- May officially launch the GC12500 at Drupa show in Germany
- Will also preview new FP790 color inkjet packaging press and the CF1160 continuous feed color inkjet system at Drupa
