Gents,

has anyone here seen this device working live in any customer enviornment?

We have feedback through 3rd parties that limitations such as:

a) can only be used on certain types of 60-80gsm stock

b) their is a limitation on "what" can be erased

c) heat can erase the toner without going through the eraser

d) longevity of prints (looking for approximate)

would be thankful for any feedback at all.

regaards,

..thats all folks!

A). From the paper drawers up to 105 gsm.  From the bypass up to 200 gsm.

B).  There is no limitation on what can be erased.  Anywhere there is blue toner on the page it can be erased.  Objects on the page with a lot of toner concentration may leave a residual image on the paper that can be faintly read.  As the same piece of paper is reused several times, that image becomes less legible and much harder to read.

C).  The erasure unit provides intense heat to de-colourize the toner on the page.  The toner remains on the page.  Heat like from a hair dryer or car dashboard would not be sufficient.

D).  The point of the reused paper is not its long shelf life in filing cabinets but the fact that you used 80% less energy than a new piece of paper.  If you are concerned about somehow losing the data on the page because in the next many years it might fade, that is what the dual head scanner is for.  As each page is erased, the image data can be scanned and sent to a storage location.

I never even considered the energy used to make another sheet of paper!  Nice, I'm still waiting to see on of these in the field.
