Now that the Canon C2020 & 2030 models have been out for a couple of months, I am interested in the group's impressions on these units. How are these selling? Are these expected to be strong sellers throughout 2011?

Those are great little units in the segment 1 & 2. They are a hot commodity based on a few criteria that separate them from the 5000 series. Mostly the difference are in the RADF, 1st tray and media weights. Qualifying the needs are very important. There is a few grand price difference from these to the 5000 series as well. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your feedback! Sales of cabinets for these models are picking up some, but I am hearing that machine deliveries from Canon are still slow and sporadic.
Just as I am sure you have heard there are many Japan based manufacturers that have been affected by the earthquake. This is quickly turning around but will take some time. You have to allow for some leeway time to compensate. But many people seem to be very understanding and know others are in the same boat.
I spoke to a larger Canon dealer today who told me they have a large stock of mainframes, but cannot obtain accessories. I think this may be the case with the larger dealers, while smaller dealers cannot get anything quickly right now...
That would not surprise me. The problem is all the major accounts use up the available inventory then when there are 24 units before your order. Then you get in a waiting game which could be a problem for your customer especially when it is needed ASAP.
