Fax Option for MP5500 etc.

Pete: No go on the fishing, the wind is from the east today and blowin about 20. You know when the wind is from the east the fishing is the least!

In reference to the fax option, I heard first quarter of 07, and all of the systems that are in the field can not be upgraded to have the fax option.

When does thi becomme available?

We was told by our Ricoh rep it will be available in Dec 2006.

The original Mp 5500/6500/7500 models will be able to be upgraded to enable compatibility with the fax option. However it could be a time-consuming process.
Main units manufactured after the spec change (november production/December availability) will be "fax-ready" meeaning, they can accept the fax option without the upgrade.

I was told by the product manager it cannot be upgraded.

Let me know what you have...I could close some sales and I am sure I am not the only one!

3. Schedule: production began in October as targeted and we are expecting them to arrive in the distribution centers in December. I've gotten numerous requests for a more specific time frame. I cannot provide this
because these fax units need to clear customs; this is the wild card.

All I can tell you is we are on target from a manufacturing standpoint and
are hoping for an early December arrival.

Thanks Mike... It's just too bad that it didn't come sooner. I lost a deal to Canon in Sept. And Ricoh was saying there would be no availability of the fax option for models placed pre-launch of fax option. I LOVE RICOH!!!!

For a long time this option wasn't going to exist, once the uproar became loud enough I guess they changed their mind.
