Let me vent a little bit and see if anyone can offer any suggestions. I have a customer who wants to make things complicated. They want their faxes to go to a folder and users to be notified when a new fax arrives...not too complicated yet. I had set this up using Autodoculink from Desktop Binder and everything was working well. Then, their office burned down. They want everything like they had it. But, Autodoculink/Desktop Binder are not available anymore. I'm in the process of evaluating some freeware that does the same thing. I call them to explain and they tell me their new fax line is in (wasn't in the first trip I made so I have to go back)...however, they are also using this (dedicated fax line) to send information from their billing software using a modem from their computer and it is not working and they don't know if their fax is working either. I go there and no dial tone. Remove the plate from the wall, no wires...gotta love it.
Anyway, does anyone know of a solution for notification when fax forward to folder? At this time, I can either have the copier email a person or group or they can use this free application Foldermonitor.
