FedEx uses FabSoft's Modular Object Scanning Technology to
manage fax and email routing

Customer Overview

  • FedEx, one of the world's largest transportation companies that serve nearly every country around the world.

Business Challenges

  • Challenged with managing numerous, enterprise backend databases.
  • Needed a flexible, scalable solution that could leverage their enterprise fax system and meet their growing demands.

Previous workflow

  • Inbound and outbound faxes were managed via Biscom FAXCOM.
  • Important documents needed to be scanned and routed to various recipients via fax and email.

Challenges

  • Lacked an efficient way to electronically route documents that allowed easy access to company databases and directory service integration.

Solution

  • FabSoft's Reform PDC with MOST and a Ricoh MFP

New workflow

  • Users can scan and route documents using MOST on the Ricoh MFP.
  • Users are able to access company address books and scan documents to stored fax numbers and email addresses.
  • Documents can also be scanned directly to the user’s LDAP home directory.
  • Fax delivery status can be viewed on the MFP or delivered via email or fax.
  • Users can access fax inboxes and print incoming faxes to the MFP.

Impact to their business

  • Employees can perform bi-directional fax communications right from the MFP, saving time and increasing efficiency.
  • Integration with backend databases allows employees to access contacts stored in their internal address books with ease.
  • Due to the amount of their projected savings and ROI, FedEx plans to implement the solution on over 2,500 MFPs company-wide.
