LONG BEACH, Calif., Oct. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ Epson has won two SGIA 2017 Product of the Year Awards, resulting in its third consecutive year receiving the prestigious awards in the roll-to-roll dye-sublimation output device category. Epson was honored by the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association's (SGIA) annual competition in the following categories:
- Epson SureColor F6200: Roll-to-roll dye-sublimation on metal
- Epson SureColor F9370: Roll-to-roll dye-sublimation on textile
"This year at SGIA, the amount of digital textile devices on the show floor is a sure indicator of the expansion and impact textile printing has had on the industry," said Tim Check, product manager, Professional Imaging, Epson America, Inc. "We are elated to have received this prestigious award three years in a row for our SureColor F-Series line of dye-sublimation printers, especially as the output device selections are rapidly expanding from some of the best manufacturers in the world. This is the first year the SureColor F9370 has been in the competition, and we are looking forward to seeing the production printer make its mark on the industry."
More than 70 companies submitted 222 entries over the competition's 49 categories, making this year the largest field of competitors in the awards program's history. All entries will be displayed in the Golden Image Gallery at the 2017 SGIA Expo (New Orleans, Oct. 10-12). In addition, the new Epson SureColor F9370 will be shown for the first time in the US in Epson's booth, #1301.
"The judges struggled to choose winners in the output device categories, because the print quality was so good and so close from entry to entry. That's great news for the printing industry," said Ray Weiss, SGIA's digital imaging specialist and award program coordinator. "Epson's award was well-earned!"
