“As businesses move to fast and remote access anywhere, efficient document capture and filing are vital in streamlining document workflow and continuing improvements in productivity and profitability,” said Priscilla Dickason, Group Product Marketing Manager at Epson Australia.
“With one-touch scan to cloud and accurate document distribution and filing among its core features, the WorkForce DS-510 scanner builds upon the success of Epson’s experience in business scanners, includes new features based on customers' feedback. This is our most robust and efficient sheetfed scanner yet," Priscilla said.
The compact WorkForce DS-510 is 46% smaller in volume than previous comparable models and with a 26% smaller footprint easily fits into any office environment.
The robust software package includes Epson Document Capture Pro, advanced colour and image adjustment capabilities, OCR, and TWAIN and ISIS drivers for effortless integration with third-party programs.
Document Capture Pro for Windows PC or Mac® allows users to immediately scan to popular cloud services including Google Docs™, MS SharePoint®, and Evernote® with one touch, and easily access documents from multiple devices or share with others.
This industry benchmark software handles a variety of scanning jobs with ease, including scan, batch separation [1], editing and data transfer. Users can easily edit jobs by adding, deleting and sorting pages. Its versatile features expand data usability and streamline document workflow.
The WorkForce DS-510 with Document Capture Pro also automates time-consuming jobs and streamlines what were once tedious manual tasks. By inserting a page separator between batches when scanning, a stack of documents can be saved as separate files or into designated folders automatically.
Workflow efficiency can be further enhanced using networking capabilities and an optional Network Interface Unit with a PushScan feature that supports up to 100 workstations with full scanner functionality.
The WorkForce DS-510 scans at up to 26 ppm/52ipm at 300dpi in colour and can scan both sides of a sheet in just one pass, as well as a stack of up to 50 pages using the built-in Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
The ultrasonic double-feed detection technology senses if more than a single page has been fed and automatically stops the feeding to avoid missing pages or jamming.
Versatile paper handling capabilities – scan many different sized documents in one single batch, from rigid ID cards and stacks of business cards to documents up to 91cm – plus the ability to scan both sides of folded pages without using a carrier sheet and digitally stitch them together – greatly increases flexibility and ease-of-use.
The WorkForce DS-510 has simple to use and innovative advanced colour and image adjustment capabilities that expand the options when capturing diverse documents. Colour Enhance captures specific and continuously variable colours from the original document before converting to black-and-white; and Colour Dropout removes any specified colour from the scanned image. Users can save up to six different colours to capture or drop for each scan profile saved for repeat use.
Features of the WorkForce DS-510 include:
