Epson will showcase the versatility and productivity of its latest SureColor wide-format inkjet printers at FESPA 2013 (25-29 June, ExCel, London. Visitors to the Epson booth (G40S) will be able to browse a wide selection of POS, signage, sports apparel, decorated giftware, gadgets and interior dÉcor applications printed onto a broad range of substrates.

Over the last 18 months, Epson has launched eight new-generation large format SureColor inkjet printers designed to deliver maximum quality, productivity, flexibility and low total cost of ownership.

These printers will be demonstrated together for the first time worldwide at FESPA in theUK, and include: three 64-inch SureColor SC-S wide-format printers; the 44-inch SureColor SC-T printer; and two SureColor SC-F dye-sublimation printers (44- and 64-inch).

Textile and giftware

On the booth, Epson will display sportswear and soft signage, alongside customised giftware, gadgets and dÉcor items to demonstrate the flexibility of the SureColor SC-F6000 and SC-F7000 dye-sublimation printers. These are the first dye sublimation printers from Epson and the first in this sector in which every component, from ink and printhead, to printer chassis and optional accessories, are all designed and manufactured by one company.

As a result, quality, performance (with production speeds over 50sqm) and reliability are all optimised for maximum productive uptime and profit. These printers use Epson UltraChrome DS ink, a specially developed new aqueous ink, which produces outstanding images with vibrant colours, intense blacks, sharp contours and smooth gradations.

Dye sublimation is ideal for printing and transferring scratch-resistant, photographic quality images onto a wide range of polyester-coated substrates, which are difficult to print onto directly, eg, aluminium, steel, plastics, MDF boards, ceramic tiles, etc. As a result, print service providers can not only expand their range of products, but also develop new, creative value-added applications.

Signage and dÉcor

A variety of high-impact, high-quality and durable POS, signage, and wallpaper graphics will be printed by three 64-inch SureColor SC-S printer models, offering a choice of productivities and from four to 10 colours, including white and metallic. These SureColor printers will demonstrate cost-effective, high-speed productivity printing onto a range of materials, including vinyl, window film and recyclable stock.

The 44-inch, four-colour SureColor SC-T7000 with UltraChrome XD ink is ideal for applications where speed and economy are paramount, such as CAD, GIS, custom banners, presentations and indoor signage. The printer is fastest in its class and features ‘PRESTIGE for Epson’ software, which gives users a large selection of predefined layouts, including themed graphics for fashion, groceries, travel, toys and more, making it ideal for short-term promotions.

Finally, Epson will demonstrate the new Display Trans Media Kit – an inkjet alternative to traditional silver halide or Duratrans backlit products. Developed with ILFORD for use with the Stylus Pro 11880 aqueous printer, Display Trans Media Kits produce images for backlit applications that meet demanding client expectations with matched image quality, even in dense blacks and skin tones.

Duncan Ferguson, Director of Pro-Graphics and New Business Development, Epson Europe, says: “The SureColor printers combine Epson precision inkjet technology, design and engineering with a new generation of UltraChrome inks to give professional print sectors the ultimate in versatility, functionality and reliability for a variety of applications, but at an affordable price. By uniting them for the first time at FESPA, we will present the broadest range of graphics products printed on the widest range of surfaces to show print service providers the significant commercial potential of Epson inkjet printers.”
