I was all set to sell my prospect a new CL400DN, I even told them it would work beautifully on envelopes, holding a large stack in the drawer.

It seems I was wrong and every envelope came out badly creased.

Is there a way to correct this? Or, is this just the way it is? What do your guys say when someone wants to print hundreds and thousands of envelopes?

Looks like I'll be eating my hat this time.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Well..... Ricoh does state that there is a certain envelope that they have tested. It is in the paper specs for the 4000DN. If I have it I will post it here. I too sold a 2 4000DN's and niether does envelopes without wrinkling. With one customer I gave him the specs for the envelopes and he has never called me since. Is that a good thing or bad thing?

Back to Hundreds and Thousands of envelopes.... do they need full color or black? If i is black then I would be talking to them about a duplicator with the print option. Duplicators run envelopes very well, and with the addition of the Seri VDP only a few months away, you may have a killer solution for them, as long as they have the volume to support the costs.
