ECi FMAudit® Teams Up with PrintReleaf™ for Reforestation Effort
Fort Worth, TX –April 22, 2015 ECi Software Solutions today announced an exciting new integration of its FMAudit® print services management software with PrintReleaf, Inc.’s PrintReleaf Exchange™ (PRX) software. Paper consumption is usually monitored to help reduce usage and therefore operating costs. Through PRX, however, dealers using FMAudit software can connect their end user customers’ printer environments to a network of global reforestation projects to help them reduce their environmental impact.
PrintReleaf Exchange™ (PRX) software integrates with FMAudit software to take consumption figures measured by FMAudit and automatically converts them to the number of trees consumed. The number of trees consumed is then sent to the reforestation project of the customer’s choice and that many trees will then be planted. According to PrintReleaf, one standard tree equals 8,333 sheets of paper. In part due to tree harvesting for paper, The World Resources Institute reports that nearly 13 million hectares of forest have been lost—an area roughly the size of England—every year between 2000 and 2010.
The application programming interface (API) connection for PrintReleaf is available now in Central v3.6. Real-time dashboard information from the integration is also now available.
“The integration of the FMAudit and PrintReleaf products is very exciting for us,” said Kevin Tetu, FMAudit President. “By offering this type of program, we are working with some of the industry’s most advanced and innovative organizations that want to offer dealers and their customers the opportunity to offset costs associated with printing by becoming actively involved in an initiative that reaches beyond the scope of our industry. It is a global initiative and is important to our environment.”
“This strategic partnership allows us to leverage the world-class technology that FMAudit brings to the MPS industry, providing customers with an innovative and authentic way to promote sustainable business practices and reduce the environmental impacts that can result from the use of forest products, such as printing,” said Jordan Darragh, CEO and Founder of PrintReleaf. “Together with FMAudit, we are providing an automated solution that supports corporate social responsibility initiatives, provides a competitive differentiator and enables reforestation across the globe."
