I know someone who works at a bank and she said that she scanned a document to her email from a Toshiba eStudio 453. A Senior VP came to the Toshiba right behind her to use the Toshiba. She hit "Finish" and walked back to her desk. The Senior VP scanned a very confidential document to the President of the bank. This document was ALSO SENT to the woman who had just scanned her document. She also told me that something similar happened before where she scanned a document and it remebered the previous persons address so when she scanned her document it ALSO was sent to the person who scanned before her.

SO my question is this a feature on the Toshiba eStudio 453 that it remembers the last address that was scanned to? Can it be turned off?

I can see that it could be a benefit if the same person was scanning many separate documents over and over. But it would be a security concern if it remembers the last person's address.

If someone on the P4P Hotel sells or services these can you let me know how they are suppose to work?

Thanks,
Vince

The e453 has been discontinued three product releases ago. It uses an older operating system known as eBridge2. Then there was eBridge3 and now there is eBridgeX. The current equivalent to an e453 is called an e456.

The e453 probably has the default setting of 45 seconds before it returns to its default set up.
This can be adjusted from the Control Panel of the copier from off to 90 seconds.

It sounds like the Senior VP attempted to use the copier within 45 seconds of the secretary leaving the copier. Therefore, her settings were still in the copier.

In situations like this, especially with a busy copier, we advise the client to get in the habit of pressing "Function Clear" everytime they approach the copier. This immediately clears any settings in the copier and returns it to its default state.

All Toshiba product does not remember the last email address.
