A customer asked for e-copy for a new 3235C, I remembered ready the press release that we now have e-copy available for Ricoh systems.
I called the rep we talked, he said our dealership needed to buy a ecopy starter kit. He never mentioned the price of the kit. He gave me retail pricing for e-copy, so I sold one! It was that or lose the sale to Canon.
We then called the rep, and now he states that the starter kit is $12,000!!!!! We are not a large dealership by any means, and now my order is in jeopardy because of the financial commitment that has to be made to e-copy! Hell, we still have a "bread basket" c-cabinet sitting in stock. Also when the rep sent me all of the information he neglected to send the info on the starter kit.
e-copy and the rep seem to be like all the rest...... they stink!
Please make sure you don't fall into the same trap as I did with them.
