WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Winston-Salem police are investigating the discovery of a body on Monday morning in the 700 block of Peters Creek Parkway.

Police said a driver saw the body in the parking lot of Copier Connections at about 5:50 a.m. and called police.

The victim was identified Monday afternoon as 44-year-old Paul Anthony Bowlin,

The cause of death appeared to be blunt force trauma to the head and possible stab wounds, police said.

Police said an autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.

The death is the sixth homicide in 2011, compared to three during the same time period in 2010.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 727-2800.
