In recent news it seems that Sharp Board of Directors is favoring and wants to explore the Foxconn takeover aka buyout more.  Foxconn offer is almost twice that of Japans INCJ (Innovative Network Corp of Japan).

From what I've read, is that INCJ is a public-private partnership between the Japanese government and 19 major corporations. (got that from wiki).  The government of Japan also provide monetary guarantees to INCJ.

Foxconn is located in New Taipei City in Taiwan, in the Republic of China.

Most everyone should know my views from all of the blogs I've written.  My view is simple, there are too many imaging manufacturers and in a mature market, our industry needs to contract some.

The ICNJ offer will eliminate a $4.7 billion dollar loan repayment to the Japanese Banks that is due in April of 2016.

I could write more, but would like to open it up and hear from others.

I don't care how much the copier division makes as far as profitability goes when that division is probably a small percentage of the overall company. My guess is it will go up for sale at some point. My bet would be to Samsung. I also don't see how that division is profitable based on what I see down the street. I kind of believe it about as much as I believed Ricoh in the dealer meeting a few years ago saying "regardless of the rumors your hear, the direct operations are profitable." From where I was sitting I thought Corridi was going to get laughed off stage for that comment. Or Canon saying CUSA is profitable but then you find out the reason they were profitable was because they laid off a lot of people.
