Dell announces four new business print solutions
Dell introduced four new custom printer solutions that aim to increase day to day efficiency within the business while enabling IT managers to focus on other tech areas.
The Dell will now be offering industry-specific print stations for law, healthcare and education customers with the purchase of a new Dell MFP along with their free Proximity Printing Solution aimed at helping IT administrators with medium to large printer fleets.
The Dell Proximity Print Solution (DPPS) allows employees to move from floor to floor and building to building on a single campus with their notebook and print to the nearest printer on the network whether working on a wired or wireless connection.
When printing on a wireless network, the employee simply chooses the closest printer from a graphical map (aka a floor plan) but DPPS can choose the best printer for the user when on a wired network.
All the IT administrator needs to do is install the free DPPS and input all necessary information one time. No need to install drivers on individual computers or own only Dell products, DPPS can be used with any printer compatible with Linux based operating systems.
DPPS will be available through Dell.com starting June 8 as a free download.
Dell will also be offering three print solutions bundled with select MFPs: Dell Healthcare Print Station, Dell Classroom Print Station and Dell Legal Print Station.
The Dell Classroom Print Station, in conjunction with the Dell Connected Classroom, will allow teachers to print, grade and analyze tests with a touch of a button. Print on-demand bubble sheet tests through Dell’s Forms on Demand feature then receive instant test results and information on how students did on individual tests, class averages, etc.
Dell Healthcare Print Station offers the popular card copy feature for easy scanning of insurance cards and IDs, as well as Forms on Demand for printing patient forms and notices at a touch of a button.
The Healthcare solution also features scan to Electronic Medical Records (EMR), an important feature with the recent mandates in healthcare on making patient information easily accessible between doctors. And with Physician Order Routing, doctors can fill out prescriptions and scan them directly to pharmacies allowing patients to pick up their orders quickly and efficiently.
The Dell Legal Print Station has scan to Court, allowing law offices to set file limits for scanned jobs to the court’s set size requirements automatically, and scan to Network, allowing lawyers to scan documents directly to personal folders for added security or to a shared folder for easy access between offices.
Dell will be bundling these print stations with the Dell 3333dn, Dell 3335dn, and Dell 5535dn multifunction printers. The cost of the print station will be added to the list price of the selected MFP and all the features, quick keys, etc. will be loaded on to the printer before it’s shipped to the customer.
The Dell Healthcare and Legal Print Stations are $599 each while the Dell Classroom Print Station retails for $1,099 and all three print stations are available now with the purchase of select MFPs through Dell.com.
