Dickinson County Commissioners on Thursday approved the purchase of a new copier for the health department and steel to replace a bridge in the southern part of the county. They also approved hiring a new auditing firm.
The commission approved purchasing a Xerox multi-function printer/copier from ImageQuest of Salina for $7,100 — $80 higher than the low bid submitted by Century Business Solutions of Manhattan.
County Administrator Brad Homman said the low bid and another one received from Central Office Products in Clay Center did not meet the minimum specifications for either resolution or memory.
Nine thousand dollars had been earmarked for purchase of a new copier in the county’s 2017 capital plan. The copier comes with a service contract where the county pays so much per copy, which pays for toner cartridges, repairs and other work.
