I set-up scanrouter for scanning on a Savin 4018d(B121/122/123). Since then they called and said that scanning stopped working. I looked on the computer and it shows that they upgraded to service pack 2. I called ricoh's technical support and he didnt know where to change the ports at and had to ask someone else. Then when he told me where he said that the firewall was disabled. So he told me to uninstall the service pack 2. When I did this scanning worked again. So I was wondering if someone could tell me where to go to change the ports and what ports to change. Also any additional information would be helpful.

Thanks

The following protocols, services, and port numbers are used between ScanRouter server and I/O device.

TCP/IP Protocol
FTP Port: 3670 (As control port)
FTP Port: 1024-65535 random (As data port)
HTTP Port: 80 (For XML data)
SNMP Port: 161 (For I/O device settings)
When browsing the I/O device from ScanRouter Delivery Server, HTTP and SNMP are used.

For firewall purposes, ports 80, 161, and 3670 need to be open. Random port numbers normally go through firewalls without any issues.

TCP/IP Protocol
Epmap Port: 135 (For file end command)
DCOM Port: 1024-65535 random

I think you're right Jomamma. This may be where we have to draw the line and say, "hey, you have to contact your IT person. It works fine on all of the other PC's."

But, I think this may be an ongoing thing. MS updates their OS and Ricoh has to create a firmware update and the cycle repeats.

A good reason for customers to purchase network support agreements from copier companies. But, Ricoh has to get on the ball. If we can have a solution to offer, it's an easy sell.
