CompTIA, the non-profit association for the information technology (IT) industry, today announced the availability of new training resources for IT channel companies interested in starting or expanding operations in the fast-growing areas of mobility and social business.
The new IT channel training - introduced this week at the CompTIA Annual Member Meeting - includes live workshops led by the CompTIA Faculty, an elite group of channel veterans, vetted and selected by their peers for their knowledge, experience and superb delivery skills. A broad selection of printed and downloadable training guides as well as business credentials also are available - more than 250 different options in all.
"Every element of CompTIA training is designed to help IT channel companies diversify, grow and strengthen their business by identifying actions and strategies for embracing new technology solutions or entering new markets," said Kelly Ricker, senior vice president, events and education, CompTIA. "This spring we've added new programs in two of the hottest and fastest-growing areas of corporate IT - mobility and social business."
Mobility has quickly become a priority for many companies as smart phones, tablets and other mobile technologies enhance employee productivity and expand options for communicating with customers and partners. Companies are building mobile policies and investing in tools for management and security. Increasingly, organizations look to external IT companies for help with their mobility needs.
Among the new training options on mobility is the CompTIA Quick Start Session to Crafting a Mobility Offering. This 45-60 minute program examines the steps IT channel companies can take to build a successful mobility strategy, including tips on bundling and marketing solutions. Attendees also receive a copy of the Quick Start Guide to Crafting a Mobility Offering, an introduction to deploying and managing increasingly complex mobile work environments and the key steps for building a successful mobility strategy.
Live Training on Social Strategies
Also new to the CompTIA IT channel training offerings is Social Strategies for the Managed Services Provider, a live workshop on how social technologies and platforms have the potential for transforming other areas of an IT business beyond sales and marketing Using a case-based approach, attendees investigate how managed services providers leverage social technologies to optimize core business processes. They'll also examine different types of social technologies and tools; and discuss strategies for utilizing social technologies within a business.
Also newly published this spring is the Quick Start Guide to Operational Efficiency. This guide provides insights into the most common "margin leaks" solution providers struggle with and how those leaks can be addressed. It also covers how to assess business operations to determine what strategic changes are needed to remain financially viable.
