I have a banking propect that is interested in a new copier. They are in tight with my competition but want a "me to" proposal from me.

The competition is proposing a Toshiba 3511. A good comparison would be the Savin 3210. But, my experience has been that these machines are not good in "high" volume black and white environments because of the image cycle.

Does anyone have experience with the 3511 and now if it goes into an image cycle like the Ricoh B2C machines? Or any other competitive info?

I plan to propose the Savin C2820 or a Savin 4035e with a CLP17 printer. My feeling is why sacrifice productivity if your color demands are only 10% of your needs.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm all ears.

Not a bad approach, I have used it for years when I thought it would benefit the customer.

However some customers still would like to have the system as an "all in one". We have had some problems with "cycling issues" with the "32" and the "24". Most of my customers have learned to live with this and are happy with what they purchased.

I have no experience with the Toshiba 3511.

Have you tried pricing the NEW 2228 (Ricoh), keep in mind this is the same engine as the 38 and can produce outstanding volume. Black & White copy speed is 7 pages slower however the color speed is 10ppm higher.

Wish I could help with some more info. Please make sure you uncover all of the customers needs. Do they need color scanning, color scan2email, any one of these could deal a knock out blow to your idea.

Also a quick run through of the Toshiba PCL6 print driver leaves alot to be desired with "ease of use" . Make sure you show the customer the RPCS driver and explain the advantage to the customer for using this driver.

Yes, at this point I've decided to propose the Savin C2820 and the C3224, we have the 2820 in the office along with the 3210 and I can show the customer the differences. The color on the 2820 is unbelievable! Some of the graphics I've printed actually look like stickers or embossed images on the page and even color print is raised to the touch. There is a definite "pop" to the color that I haven't seen on the B2C machines.

The prospect is not really interested in printing or scanning but on the 3511 it comes with faxing so they say. I will focus on showing scanning and printing because I think my competitor has gotten lax with this customer and is basically on a "proposal on demand" basis. Where's the love? I'm going to do my best to romance them and make them see what they've been missing.

Thanks for the quick response.
