The committee approved a plan that would consolidate the copier leases, and get rid of extra machines stashed around the district, that would save $12,000 this year.

The audit was part of the interim superintendent's plan to go over the school's budget with a fine-toothed comb while he is under contract with the district to find additional money to put into classrooms.

"I'm going to start looking at everything, no matter how small or how large," Mr. Malone said.

Off-topic rant:

So, this article is a good example of one thing I hate about online articles. It says nothing about where it is from.

Even clicking the link (to Southcoasttoday.com, hrm, Southcoast... Is that Texas? Mississippi?) shows a byline of "Middleboro". I'm sorry, but I don't know that Middleboro (Cranberry Capital of the World) is a town in MA with a population of 20,000 people (ok, I know that now, but didn't earlier).

Website says nothing, even on the front page, about being in MA. The only hint I see that the "southcoast" is not in the "south" is a link to a story about a RI man.
