Cloud Printing

We haven't been asked for it yet, but boy you sure can see it coming.
Even in our own office, we are increasingly using iPads and other mobile devices that lend themselves to cloud type usage.
Also, cloud computing is making certain services more affordable to to smaller companies who can't afford their own IT personnel. They will eventually, and naturally, look to cloud solutions for their print needs as well.

Here is a fresh story driving home this point.

I just had a customer ask me more about collaborating files, he's sick and tired of zipping files and the emailing back and forth and can't keep track of the revisions to the documents. Other than this customer, we have many customers with sharepoint, plus we consult and install sharepoint. I beleive we're just starting to see the tip of the iceberg!

I was in a small town last week at an six person Accountanting firm. They were using Cloud Computing for storage and document collaboration.

They were concerned about the large amounts of paper documents that they had to store, retrieve and off site storage.

They did not want to get a bigger office so they saw cloud computing as a way to get rid of filing cabinets.

They liked the ability to be at a clients office and pull up their files at the customer's location.

They liked the ability to be able to work from home and bill their time.

Sharp just announced Sharp OSA 4.0 at their dealer meeting. Among other things it features what they call "Cloud Connect" to enable the MFPs to scan directly to cloud applications.
