Seattle (PRWEB) August 27, 2013

Cintas Corporation, a leader in secure document management services, today  announced its new hard drive destruction program is available in the Seattle  market.

“Our new service safely and efficiently destroys computer hard drives,  eliminating the risk of a data breach,” said Clint Saunders, General Manager,  Cintas Document Management, Seattle. “Our certified solution also offers  organizations the assurance that they will remain compliant with data privacy  standards.”

Complete destruction is the best way to protect sensitive business data on  discarded hard drives. Cintas is the only hard drive destruction provider to  offer the LockDown™ process. Through this exclusive process, two background  checked secure service representatives collect the hard drives and scan and log  each serial number at the time of service. They then physically destroy the hard  drives onsite in a secure Cintas truck using state-of-the-art shredders. All  destroyed hard drives are collected in locked transportation bins and a manifest  of each destroyed hard drive is created, along with a Certificate of Destruction  for proof of service. For added peace of mind, customers can view all hard  drives to ensure they are destroyed before the truck leaves the parking lot.

Typical hard drive destruction methods come with many risks because they are  time consuming, prone to human error and, in many cases, not compliant with  disposal laws. Additionally, compliance with data confidentiality rules carries  risk of serious financial penalties. For example, the Health Insurance  Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) allows fines of up to $250,000 and 10  years in prison for each violation of patient health information privacy rules.
