LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Making it easier and more affordable for healthcare professionals to produce high-quality prints, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging technologies, will showcase the Canon imagePRESS C1+ color printing solution with Virtual Imaging’s Cypher DICOM Print Solution1 at the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas (August 10th – 12th, booth #409).
The imagePRESS C1+ color printing solution produces high quality color prints for healthcare professionals looking for a cost effective way to add value and introduce new capabilities in environments where quality is a critical factor in relaying messages and presenting data.
When combined with Cypher and utilized with Canon’s advanced portable and general digital radiography (DR) systems and solutions or other modalities, the imagePRESS C1+ color printing solution can produce high-quality paper prints with outstanding image quality and vibrant colors from any DICOM2 modality with a Print SCU capability.
Although the prints are not intended for diagnostic purposes, the imagePRESS C1+ color printing solution is specifically designed for print environments that require high levels of accuracy, detail and consistency in image reproduction. The imagePRESS C1+ color printing solution with CYPHER can support multiple DICOM compliant modalities and PACS systems without the complexities of a dedicated printing solution for each modality. By printing secondary copies on paper rather than film, this print on demand solution eliminates the costs and time associated with the developing process, helping support quicker patient turnaround time.
“As medical images are produced in digital formats, filmless imaging has created a growing demand for hard copies,” said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. “At AHRA 2009, healthcare professionals can experience how the imagePRESS C1+ color printing solution when combined with the Cypher DICOM Print Solution can meet that demand and help decrease the costs associated with film usage.”
The imagePRESS C1+ color printing solution has the ability to handle a wide range of popular paper sizes (up to 13 x 19 inches) and types including coated and textured stocks, without compromising image quality to share with referring physicians, patients, insurance companies and authorities, as well as for teaching purposes. In addition, when printing on a variety of media finishes, Gloss Optimization ensures that the gloss of the media will match the imaged area.
The Cypher DICOM Print Solution can handle multiple simultaneous associations and can log the network exchange for the purpose of analysis. It also provides gamma and contrast image value adjustments for each individual printer. Images can be enhanced while retaining detail and gradients of black and white results with the SMPTE test pattern, allowing for easy comparison between the monitor and the hard proof of study results.
The Canon imagePRESS C1+ color printing solution is now available and the Virtual Imaging Cypher DICOM Print Solution is expected to be available for delivery later this year through Canon Authorized Dealers.
