WASHINGTON, Jul 19, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, will showcase select imageFORMULA products and solutions at this year's Federal Office Systems Expo (FOSE), the largest event serving the government technology market in the country, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (July 19 - 21, 2011).
"In the federal, state and local government sectors, it is critical for document scanning technologies to be reliable, secure and efficient," said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "We are excited to demonstrate our continued commitment to delivering scanning solutions that can help government agencies consolidate and organize records, reduce paperwork and administrative costs, and increase security."
Canon will have a variety of its imageFORMULA devices on display during this year's show, including:
-- imageFORMULA P-150 "Scan-tini" Personal Document Scanner: The Canon P-150 personal document scanner is a compact, easy-to-use device ideal for "road warriors," and government office users in general-purpose distributed document-scanning applications, as well as check scanning in remote deposit capture applications. Measuring 11-inches long, 3.7-inches wide, 1.6-inches high and weighing just over two pounds, the P-150 redefines the minimum dimensions of a document scanner with automatic document feeder.
-- imageFORMULA DR-3010C Workgroup Scanner: The Canon DR-3010C scanner is Canon's fastest and most reliable workgroup scanner. It is perfect for either mission-specific or casual use, in a wide variety of workflows. The DR-3010C offers scanning speeds of up to 40ppm and 80ipm*and comes bundled with a suite of innovative software packages including Canon CapturePerfect 3.0, Kofax VRS, NewSoft Presto! BizCard, Nuance eCopy PDF Pro Office, PaperPort SE, and OmniPage SE. Shown in conjunction with the DR-3010C is the optional Flatbed 101, which when attached to an imageFORMULA scanner product, will accept thin or fragile documents, books or bound documents, and exceptionally thick documents. Flatbed 101 will work with all imageFORMULA workgroup and departmental scanners.
-- imageFORMULA ScanFront 300P Network Scanner with CAC / PIV support: The Canon ScanFront 300P network scanner is a full-featured, easy-to-use and manage device developed to capture, convert and share important documents across a network, while improving the security of the data being shared and lowering overall workplace costs in government offices. Featuring a fingerprint reader to improve security, the ScanFront 300P is an ideal solution for capturing documents in decentralized environments and improves collaboration by allowing government users to capture and share information seamlessly in central and field locations. Shown in conjunction with the ScanFront 300P is a sneak preview of Common Access Card (CAC) / Personal Identity Verification (PIV) support. This functionality will allow users to authenticate to the ScanFront 300P through the use of their CAC / PIV cards, a type of smart card. Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) requires Federal employees and their contractors to use standardized CAC / PIV to gain access to Federal facilities and information systems. CAC / PIV support in ScanFront 300P is expected to become available later this year.
-- imageFORMULA DR-X10C Production Scanner: Fast, durable and reliable, the Canon DR-X10C scanner is a robust solution for document archiving, records management and other centralized or consolidated scanning applications in government offices. Providing high-speed color scanning at up to 130 ppm / 260 ipm* and a resolution of up to 600 dpi, the DR-X10C also features Canon's Three-Step Dust Prevention system which helps remove and protect the scanning sensors from paper dust. The DR-X10C captures a wide variety of documents, with a maximum document size of 12x39.4-inches. Canon will also feature a software partner, Psigen, showing its PSI:Capture software running in conjunction with the DR-X10C.
