Aimed at the technical document market, these new models offer users an affordable solution providing fast and effective large format image capture-to-output. The new multifunction systems will add a new class to Canon's current three lines of large format printers and will be on display for the first time at Autodesk University in Las Vegas, Nev., on December 1, 2010 in the Canon booth #106.
The new Canon iPF MFP imaging systems provide a new type of large format color system with a wide range of features and workflow solutions making for an extraordinary value to many different types of printing environments. The technical documents user, such as architects, engineers and sub-contractors, can take advantage of the many technological advancements incorporated into these low cost systems. The Canon iPF MFP imaging systems include a Ci C40 color scanner with a 40-inch scan width for A0, D and architectural E-size scans, true 600dpi optical resolution, scan speeds up to 10 inches per second in monochrome, instant productivity from power on with no warm-up time, front document exit for easy retrieval and face-up paper feed with automatic size detection.
Offering tremendous versatility and functionality, each system includes a 40-inch color scanner utilizing Contact Imaging Sensor (CIS) technology, a Dell Inspiron 560S Computer, 21.5-inch touch screen monitor, SmartWorks MFP scanning software, reprographics stand and the choice of one of five imagePROGRAF large format printers: the iPF710, iPF750, iPF755, iPF815 and iPF825.
"Canon is excited to offer this new category of large format solutions with multifunction capabilities that help meet the needs of technical document users," said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Large Format Product Division, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "Now, the technical document market has the versatility of having color MFP solutions under $10,000 with color input as well as output."
SmartWorks MFP software allows for simple operation for scanning and copying. With an intuitive interface, users can easily preview scans, crop images and then save to file, email or print. The program includes three levels of background filters to improve scan or copy quality for different original types by cleaning the background. This solution also offers batch scanning and saves to JPG, TIFF or PDF file formats.
The choice of five different MFP solutions allows technical document users to choose the model that best corresponds to the applications being used while maintaining overall productivity within a price point that makes sense for the business. The Canon iPF MFP imaging systems include an iPF five-color printer that features: fast, high quality printing with precise 4pl ink droplet for high image resolution, clarity and detail and an Economy Print Mode which allows for a lower cost of operation.
The Canon iPF MFP imaging system will carry an estimated selling price of $7,495 for the 36-inch iPF710 printer, $8,495 for the 36-inch iPF750 printer, $8,995 for the 36-inch iPF755 printer, $9,795 for the 44-inch iPF815 printer and $11,495 for the 44-inch iPF825 printer.
