MELVILLE, N.Y., Apr 22, 2015 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- As a part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is proud to announce that the Company will continue its relationship with the Arbor Day Foundation by supporting its Community Tree Recovery Program, which helps to rebuild communities affected by natural disasters through the planting of trees. To date, Canon U.S.A.’s contributions to the Arbor Day Foundation have resulted in the planting of more than 300,000 trees to impacted areas throughout the United States.

“Canon believes in the importance of contributing to the communities that we work and live in to help build a better world for generations to come,” said Junichi Yo****ake, senior vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “We are honored to continue to work with the Arbor Day Foundation on this important initiative and help improve the quality of life to the communities that have been damaged by natural catastrophies.”

This year the Community Tree Recovery Program will provide relief to 10 states, including Oklahoma, New Jersey, Mississippi, Texas and Washington. Through the Canon Forest Program, which will directly support the Community Tree Recovery Program, Canon will help contribute to the planting of one tree for every eligible imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction system sold from April 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015, up to a maximum of 50,000 trees. Current imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction systems have achieved outstanding Total Energy Consumption (TEC) ratings, earned ENERGY STAR®1 ratings, and have also received various EPEAT® ratings2, which is the global registry for greener electronics.

“The Community Tree Recovery Campaign is about bringing life back to communities struck by natural disasters,” said Dan Lambe, president, Arbor Day Foundation. “These trees are part of the long and important history of the people and land of the affected areas. We thank Canon for years of generous support of our nation’s forests.”
