Lake Success, N.Y., May 13, 2009 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging and software solutions, today introduced the imageFORMULA DR-6010C departmental scanner. Building upon its highly successful and award-winning line of departmental scanners, the DR-6010C delivers flexibility, high-speed, reliable document handling and superior image quality in a small footprint design. The DR-6010C joins the imageFORMULA DR-4010C to strengthen Canon’s scanning solutions for departmental environments.
Recognizing many scanning environments must increase speed without sacrificing quality, the DR-6010C departmental scanner includes several advanced image-processing features in a convenient design for precise, yet rapid document capture. The DR-6010C can scan up to 60 pages-per-minute (ppm) and 120 images-per-minute (ipm)I, at resolutions up to 600 dots-per-inch (dpi). In order to maintain the integrity and quality of scanned documents without forfeiting scanning speeds, the new scanner includes features such as advanced three-line contact image sensor (CIS) technology, Bleed-Through Prevention/Background Removal, Moire Reduction, as well as Sensor Shading Mechanisms to produce precise, high-quality images.
“Most companies are looking for ways to maximize returns at all levels of the business system, and therefore need practical solutions for ad-hoc and mission-specific document capture tasks,” said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “The new imageFORMULA DR-6010C departmental scanner offers a fast, reliable option without compromising overall image quality.”
As more departments and business environments adopt document imaging solutions, the DR-6010C scanner provides a flexible solution that can meet the needs of several vertical markets such as government, legal and financial marketplaces, among others. The DR-6010C scanner includes capabilities such as Ultrasonic Double Feed Detection, straight paper path, and Long Document Mode which allows it to reliably accommodate a wide variety of document sizes and types, including plastic or business cards, fragile or thick documents, and documents up to 39-inches in length.
To help streamline workflow and improve overall productivity, the imageFORMULA DR-6010C scanner includes many user-friendly features like Scan-To-Job buttons to distribute documents directly to e-mail, printers and other standard destinations, as well as the capability to customize up to 99 additional scan tasks for one-touch operation. The DR-6010C scanner is also bundled with Canon CapturePerfect and Adobe Acrobat to help facilitate the document capture and enterprise content management (ECM) processes.
