The showcase will include the recently announced imageFORMULA DR-C125 document scanner, located in the Canon booth (#1418) at the McCormick Place Convention Center in, Chicago, October 11--13, 2011.
"This year's BAI expo is focused on technologies and solutions that can propel business forward," said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "We are excited to emphasize our commitment in offering the greatest value to customers by providing high-quality check transport and digital document scanners that are necessary for the retail banking industry."
The Canon solutions on display during this year's show include:
-- imageFORMULA DR-C125 Document Scanner: The Canon DR-C125 scanner makes converting and capturing paper-based documents to digital format a paper-saving option for businesses. Delivering color, black-and-white and gray-scale scan speeds at up to 25 pages-per-minute (ppm)(1)in simplex mode, the DR-C125 scanner can reliably handle a wide variety of document types, including long-document mode for documents up to 118 inches in length, for example media records such as accounting logs. The scanner also features user-selectable paper paths for scanning items such as thick documents, plastic ID cards and embossed cards.
-- imageFORMULA CR-190i High-Volume Check Transport: The Canon imageFORMULA CR-190i High-Volume Check Transport provides a high-performance payment processing platform that delivers Canon's extraordinary image quality in an efficient, countertop design. It is ideal for use in back office/branch-capture and remittance/lockbox-processing applications by banks, credit unions and other organizations that handle large volumes of checks.* The CR-190i can scan up to 190 double-sided cpm(2) (checks per minute), at up to 300 dpi, while simultaneously reading Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) data.
-- imageFORMULA P-150 "Scan-tini" Personal Document Scanner: The Canon P-150 scanner is ideal for use by "road warriors" and office workers for general-purpose distributed document scanning applications, as well as check scanning in remote deposit capture applications.* Measuring 11 inches long, 3.7 inches wide, 1.6 inches high and weighing just over two pounds, the P-150 redefines the minimum dimensions of a document scanner with automatic document feeder. The P-150 can scan batches of up to 15 ppm and 30 images-per-minute(3)(ipm), yet still fits easily into a briefcase.
-- imageFORMULA CR-80 Compact Check Transport and Star Micronics FVP-10 Thermal Receipt Printer: The Canon CR-80 check transport is an easy-to-use, compact solution that is ideal for teller counters, merchant desks, and other space-constrained environments. It can be used for moving paper checks and related small documents in front-counter settings, for merchant/remote deposit capture applications, and for low-volume remittance processing.* The CR-80 feeds batches at scanning speeds of up to 80 cpm(4). It delivers sharper images resulting in better Optical Character Recognition (OCR), through new features such as Fine Text Filtering. Also on display is the FVP-10 thermal receipt printer from Star Micronics. This printer, when combined with the CR-80 using the mounting platform accessory developed by Star Micronics, delivers a stable teller window/retail POS solution with a small footprint.
