Canon to sell printer fleet security solution
Announced it will resell printer fleet cybersecurity as a service offerings from Symphion Inc. of Dallas, Texas
- monitors, alerts, reports, remediates and records changes to security settings and status of printer/MFP fleets
- monitors devices that access the internet, store data on hard drives, email in and out of the domain, download and upload software, open communications ports and enabling storage on USB thumb drives
- Even if security settings are turned on at commissioning, alerts if they get turned off
- Essential Evergreen Inventories through Device Lifecycle Management
- automatically accounts for changes in device location, IP address, and device
configuration and other changes.
- Customer can decide on their “Gold Standards” to be established per device and enterprise wide
o Symphion then sets those device security settings (except settings requiring
maintenance mode) to establish those Gold Standards.
o automatically maintains top device security settings (not requiring
maintenance mode) across entire print fleet to “Gold Standard”
- automatic regular risk assessment, a regular security evaluation of chosen controls and historical records of chosen controls and measures taken
- records are readily available for auditors without requiring a project or dedicating employees’ time
- process and records also match most security mandates for regular assessment and record keeping including NIST RMF.
