Canon terminates dealer, gets sued

- Hunter Business Systems (HBS) of New Jersey was cancelled by Canon, claiming that the dealer breached agreement by selling aftermarket products/replacement toner at wholesale
- HBS was signed up an authorized dealer for Canon in 1995.
- HBS is claiming wrongful termination after forfeiting its business and investment of more than $10 million
- Canon is claiming that dealer failed to provide a full and detailed audit of business and operations
o Also that dealer sold Canon toner at wholesale, which is violation of dealer
agreement.
- HBS also detailed how its quota with Canon was for $2 million per year, which Canon dropped to $1.7 million for pandemic years of 2020 and 2021
o HBS is also a dealer for Ricoh, HP & Lexmark
