MELVILLE, N.Y., Nov 13, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced that its parent company, Canon Inc., has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2014 Magic Quadrant for Managed Print and Content Services report1.
The Gartner Magic Quadrant positions vendors based on their performance across two major categories: the Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. In the Ability to Execute category, Gartner evaluates each Managed Print and Content Services Provider (MPCS) on its “success in delivering results today, as well as its preparation to deliver results in the future,” and in The Completeness of Vision category, Gartner evaluates a provider’s “prospects for success by analyzing its view of the market, service operating model, and strategic plans for growth and service improvements.”
Gartner names the Leaders in the quadrant based on their ability to offer a service that helps customers to optimize or manage their company's document output by meeting certain objectives such as driving down costs, improving efficiency and productivity, or reducing the IT support workload. Gartner also reviews the company for its portfolio of comprehensive solutions that rationalizes, streamlines and optimizes business communications inside an organization by providing customers with consultative help, software and implementation.
Providing a unified offering for total output and document solutions management, Canon Managed Document Services (MDS) consists of a global infrastructure and menu of services that allows flexibility yet consistency in design and scalability. Canon’s five phase approach provides the framework to customize its service and solutions portfolio to help meet the changing needs of customers while having the back-end infrastructure that enables implementation on a global scale.
“Canon continues to invest in its Global Services program. With headquarters located in New York, we are committed to better serve multi-regional customers, from all sizes, geographies, and verticals in optimizing their print environment in a proactive and ongoing manner,” said Junichi Yo****ake, senior vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “We are also increasing the number of personnel globally to benefit large, direct, multi-regional customers.”
Canon’s broad portfolio of hardware, software and value-added services is capable of tying into any managed document services engagement, including optimization analysis, design implementation, service and support, and continuous re-evaluation for business process improvements. Software tools and technology, such as MDS Cloud, uniFLOW and Therefore can address such needs as print intelligence and output management, regulatory compliance and security, central reprographic department integration, information management, and the increasing demand for mobile and remote user services.
Starting with simple fleet and service automation for total cost of ownership reduction, to providing advanced services for more complex document workflow, Canon's MDS business is built on one of the largest sales and service organizations in the world. Serving the gamut of industries, Canon’s hardware and software technology are key components of its comprehensive MDS strategy, providing a streamlined and unified technology platform that redefines how businesses access, share, and manage communications and information.
