So I guess if you ordered devices on after March 1st and they are not shipped my March 31st the 7.5% increase is retroactive. I would say that 80% of all devices will not ship in time...... See attached document for the increase

I heard RICOH is also increasing pricing, any info on how much they will increase?
Ricoh 3.9% for hardware, 1.9% for supplies in EU
@Anders And So good to hear from you!! How are things?

80% is a very optimistic estimate. All devices we've ordered from Canon in the past 6 months have taken AT LEAST 30 days to arrive, but 90+ days has been the "average". We still have a half dozen unreceived equipment orders from November/December with "No ETA".
This increase is going to squeeze a lot of their small dealers out of selling Canon who already experienced pressures from their Price Discount Level changing last year which basically acted as a 3-4% price increase on hardware for those who couldn't hit their baseline targets in 2020...when entire geographic regions were shut down.
So this is becoming a compound problem for the small dealers:
- They can't get the merchandise they want to sell to grow their revenues
- They're literally paying 3-4% more for not being able to sell what they're ordering because revenues were down from previous years
- Now paying another 8% more on top of that because of rising costs from problem #1
And all of this neglects the trend of offices moving from A3 devices to A4 which further shrinks revenues, and the even longer waitlist of orders because manufacturers are prioritizing A3 unit supply over A4 despite the growing demand in A4 units over A3...smh.
@Kevin Foley good content!
Kyocera had a 10% increase across the board a couple months ago
Seems as though everyone is raising their pricing. The pandemic has left an indelible mark on the global economy. Hey Kevin... At least we have toner! ie... look on the bright side.
