LONDON, September 01, 2011 – Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions, today launches the i-SENSYS LBP7680Cx and LBP7660Cdn; a new generation of laser printers. In an industry first, the LBP7680Cx MEAP enabled laser printer integrates with Canon’s uniFLOW platform for effective print management – to provide enterprise functionality within a smaller footprint.
The i-SENSYS LBP7680Cx and LBP7660Cdn are the first in a series of laser printers, built on a new architecture consistent with Canon’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform. By including MEAP technology, the LBP7680Cx can form part of an integrated solution for managing both print and document scanning. For enterprises, this enables full cost management and recovery, tracking and logging users across a variety of devices.
“By offering customers integration with our portfolio of business solutions it enables them to create a balanced deployment of print devices to meet the needs of their organisation,” says Anil Jagpal, European Marketing Manager, Laser Business Imaging Group, Canon Europe. “The i-SENSYS LBP7680Cx will seamlessly integrate into an organisations printer fleet, allowing IT managers to have consistent device management and control, as well as benefit from the advanced security, cost management and serviceability as their larger multifunctional devices.”
All customers will benefit from the inherent security functionality such as secure job release and keyword recognition, to control the distribution of restricted content. For workgroups and small businesses, this enterprise functionality and advanced performance has never before been offered in a laser device.
The new laser printers also have a new simple and clean design in a compact footprint to save space. The easy to use intuitive control panel and 5-line LCD with animation offers easy set-up and use to improve productivity. Adobe PostScript level 3 support means users can print professional quality text and images, as well as improving the performance of the printer.
The i-SENSYS LBP7680Cx and LBP7660Cdn offer printing at speeds of 20ppm (black-and-white/colour). For workgroups and small businesses they enable fast print performance in space critical environments, as well as industry leading energy efficiency with a Typical Energy Consumption (TEC)* rating of just 0.9kWh per week, one of the lowest ratings of similar devices on the market.
The i-SENSYS LBP7680Cx and LBP7660Cdn are available across Europe during October, 2011.
* Typical Electricity consumption (TEC value) = a method of testing and comparing the energy performance of imaging equipment products, which focuses on the typical electricity consumed by a product while in normal operation during a week.
