And it is an additional option for the Saddle Stitch Finisher (That finisher has a $10,500 List and the folder has a $5700 list).

Compare that to a $5200 list on our SR860 and if you want to get really carried away the list on the SR85 Booklet Maker is only $9750 and will be available for the 2090,2105 soon. (Though I don't think it can "Z" fold.

Another consideration is that you can buy a folding unit that will do ALL of your folding off line for less than $3000.00.

That's my 2 cents worth!

I didn't check the spec's, but from what I have experienced it does not slow down the speed of the copier. But I have had some customers complain that it cannot Z fold to the edge on the last fold. Canon designed it to leave a 6mm gap for some reason and it cannot be adjusted to compensate. Most companies that have interest in using the Z fold to insert ledger documents into letter spec books are used to have a "clean" edge fold. Also, the Z fold is only an option if used in conjunction with the saddle stitch booklet finisher. Some customers may not need booklet finishing, but have to invest in it to get the rather expensive Z fold option. It does reuuire a lot of Z fold applications to justify the ROI.
