Oce, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, announced the addition of the Canon imagePRESS C7010VP digital color press to the Oce color solutions portfolio. A variety of application demonstrations showcase the system's capabilities in Oce Booth 1217 at Graph Expo, the first time the product will be shown in the United States as part of the Oce portfolio.
A true production color press, the Canon imagePRESS C7010VP system is built to power through jobs at speeds of up to 70 images per minute in color or black and white on any supported media. With the newest member of the Canon imagePRESS family, customers can confidently take on the toughest deadlines with true production performance.
Taking success to the next level
The new Canon imagePRESS C7010VP system provides a number of enhancements to take the successful imagePRESS C7000VP press to the next level. To expand the market opportunity in heavier production environments, the imagePRESS C7010VP model offers a monthly duty cycle of one million impressions. Other enhancements critical to success in the Graphic Arts market include expanded paper support accommodating media from 60gsm to 325gsm, expansion of saddle stitch finishing to handle up to 25 sheets and a maximum sheet size of 13"x19.2". Enhancements in overall color consistency accommodate changes in humidity based on operating environmental conditions inside the engine. Finally, greater productivity and uptime result due to a new paper jam recovery method and the addition of higher production speeds for most larger sheets and mixed-media jobs.
"Designed to produce vibrant, consistent color quality with the look and feel of offset, the Canon imagePRESS C7010VP color system offers print professionals the best of all worlds: speed, quality, reliability and versatility. We are committed to providing customers with greater access to the printing solutions necessary to exceed customer standards," said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A.
Print providers can expand market opportunities and services
"With the Canon imagePRESS digital C7010VP color press, print providers can offer offset-like quality with the convenience, smaller run length and cost benefits of digital production. By adding the imagePRESS C7010VP system to the Oce color product line, our customers can now expand their service offerings and tap into profitable new business-building opportunities, including applications such as variable data printing, booklet and book printing, direct mail postcards, and more," said Francis McMahon, vice president, Marketing; Oce North America; Production Printing Systems. "By offering a wider range of services, print providers can enhance the value they provide to their customers with short-run, variable data color printing and multiple finishing options."
The system is ideal for customers with intensive graphics or variable data printing requirements, such as commercial printers, direct mailers, service bureaus, corporate in-house print shops (CRDs), and transactional printers. It provides a solution for customers looking for image quality that rivals offset, the flexibility to customize output with variable data, and the ability to print on a wider range of media.
Digital color press productivity improves business efficiency
With consistent speed and quality across every run, and generous input and output capacity, the Canon imagePRESS C7010VP digital color press helps print providers get more done in less time, turn rush jobs around faster without rescheduling workloads, and ultimately realize a faster time to profit. Load-while-run productivity means operators don't have to stop the printer to load media or toner. Because the system is so productive, print professionals can consolidate machines to reduce footprint, maintenance and energy usage and deploy manpower more efficiently.

Graph Expo demonstrations showcase direct mail and marketing collateral
At Graph Expo, the Canon imagePRESS C7010VP digital press will be a key solution within the direct mail and marketing collateral area in Oce booth 1217, demonstrating a diverse range of applications to showcase the system's flexibility:
Where Magazine Chicago - this saddle-stitched, full-color 8.5"x11" travel booklet will be printed on demand on mixed cover and body stock in a streamlined white-paper-in/finished-product-out process. The booklet will be completely finished inline, with inline three-side trim and inline saddle-stitcher, demonstrating the system's outstanding versatility in terms of color quality, and media and finishing flexibility. It will also show how print operations can reduce touch points throughout the production process and minimize errors, labor and waste in order to work more productively.
Full-color posters - this 12"x18" full-color poster demonstrates the exceptional offset-like image quality produced by the system, showcasing color vibrancy and consistency, details in highlights and shadows, and smooth gradations in skin tones.
Inspirations perfect-bound book - the Canon imagePRESS C7010VP digital color press will print color covers and interior pages for this 8.5"x11" mixed color and black & white compendium of fashion images and ideas. Color components will be integrated with black & white pages on the Oce VarioPrint® 6320 Ultra system and finished on the Challenge CMT330 three-knife trimmer and a BGB1208 Perfect Binder.
Personalized direct mail postcards - with a focus on the fast-growing market for 1:1 marketing and image personalization, the Canon imagePRESS C7010VP digital color press will be shown producing direct mail postcards, handling variable data files with ease, while reliably feeding heavy-weight media.
